At the Institute in Darwin, the concept was presented and got a green light from all Districts that they would support a vision of building tomorrow's communication strategy. We were tasked with researching and presenting a solution to membership decline and public image problems.
We are in discussion with Rotary International and we will not go ahead without their approval. They are currently very enthusiastic about the project, as long as it has an appropriate Governing body that follows the RI communications and brand guidelines, and that we answer any questions they have over the coming weeks.
RI recommended that we establish a new entity for simply the website and its communication platforms, the shareholders of which will be Districts of Australia, PDGs Lou Johnson and Mike Perkins are preparing a submission for the consideration of the Zone Director and RI. However Noel Trevaskis has recommended One Rotary be part of the RDU entity. This is now being negotiated by Philip Archer and Euan Miller.
